This is about a transformative journey inspired by my Swedish roots and global adventures. As I launch a new chapter in the coaching space, I follow the path from childhood explorations in Småland to creating an innovative coaching school where technology meets personal growth.
Wonderful Weirdling,
From the moment I left my childhood home in Vetlanda, Sweden—midsummer dances, crossword puzzles, and "kubb" games still echoing in my mind—I felt the pull of an unseen path propelling me into the unknown.
Back then, I was blasting "I'm Free" by The Who convinced that true freedom meant following the whisper of my inner compass, even when I couldn't see where it would lead. That same drive took me from running Coachutbildning Sverige to wandering the globe as a digital nomad, eventually finding a new homeland in the United States.
The Alchemist
Just like in the story of The Alchemist, I've returned full circle to something I once left behind—reviving a new coaching school after collecting scattered puzzle pieces of knowledge, testing their sustainability at home, and retreating to my "wilderness bubble" to recharge.
I was recently reminded of that very first newsletter from 2007 and decided to reread it—perhaps you remember it, too! This paragraph especially caught my attention:
“When I was little, I woke up every morning looking forward to a new adventure, and I remember sneaking off to explore the small village in Småland where I grew up. I let my inspiration for the day guide me—sometimes to brief visits with every neighbor in town, sometimes to a full day at my grandmother’s place enjoying her fridge-cold meatballs, or sometimes disappearing into the forest to sit under my favorite spruce tree and ponder. I knew I wasn’t allowed to run off and that I’d be scolded for disobedience, but the drive to experience was stronger than my fear of consequences. It’s that very same drive that now compels me to leave Coachutbildning Sverige for new adventures, new encounters, and new places to reflect.”
I could copy and paste that paragraph and replace "Coachutbildning Sverige" with "my Introverted life."
Armed with Lessons from Mistakes
The world has changed dramatically since then, especially regarding technology and AI revolutionizing possibilities. Back in those days, social media as we know it didn't even exist. I'd create my own "Pinterest" on my computer, saving images with captions, but there was nowhere to share them.
Now, as I prepare to embark on this adventure again—armed with lessons from my mistakes and the invaluable insights I've gathered—the thrill of not knowing what comes next still fuels me. It feels like standing on the cusp of a new era, ready to walk a path that's always been there but made more evident by the power of innovation.
But I know this: my compass has never failed me, and every step forward, unseen though it might be, has led me exactly where I'm meant to go.
